Norwegian Joy

Norwegian Joy is an innovative Breakaway-Plus class cruise ship from Norwegian Cruise Line, launched in 2017 and originally named Norwegian Joy for the Chinese market. At 167,725 gross tons and 1,094 feet long, she carries 3,883 passengers at double occupancy. Initially homeported in China, Norwegian Joy was significantly refurbished in 2019 before repositioning to North America, receiving upgrades including the addition of new dining venues, a Starbucks, expanded casino space, and enhanced entertainment options. The ship features a two-level electric go-kart racetrack called the Speedway, the Galaxy Pavilion virtual reality complex with immersive simulator rides, and an open-air laser tag arena. The Waterfront, a quarter-mile oceanfront promenade lined with restaurants and bars, provides one of the most scenic outdoor dining experiences at sea. Norwegian Joy also features Concierge and Haven suite categories, the latter offering a private courtyard with pool, sundeck, and exclusive restaurant. The Mandara Spa provides extensive wellness facilities including a salt room and snow room. Entertainment includes Broadway-caliber shows in the main theater, the Social comedy and nightclub venue, and live music throughout the ship. Norwegian Joy sails primarily from Seattle to Alaska in summer and Caribbean itineraries during winter months.
