Costa Smeralda

Costa Smeralda is a flagship vessel of Costa Cruises, the Italian cruise line owned by Carnival Corporation, delivered in December 2019 from Meyer Turku in Finland. At 185,010 gross tons and 1,130 feet long, she carries up to 6,554 passengers at maximum occupancy and was the first Costa ship built on the Excel-class platform. Costa Smeralda celebrates Italian lifestyle and the beauty of the emerald coast of Sardinia that gives her her name. The ship features the stunning Colosseo, a three-deck central atrium topped by a spectacular LED dome that displays immersive Italian landscapes. Costa Smeralda was the first cruise ship in the Carnival Corporation fleet to be powered by LNG fuel, predating even Carnival's own Mardi Gras. Dining showcases Italian culinary excellence with restaurants representing different Italian regions, overseen by brand ambassador chef Bruno Barbieri. The ship features the CoDe museum of contemporary design, multiple pools and a waterpark, the Solemio Spa, and a dedicated family zone. Entertainment revolves around the Colosseo with immersive shows and the CoDe experience blending art and technology.
