About Iona

Iona is the largest ship ever built for P&O Cruises, delivered in October 2020 from Meyer Werft in Germany. At 184,089 gross tons and 1,130 feet long, she carries 5,200 passengers at double occupancy and brought a new scale of cruising to the British market. Named after the beautiful Scottish island of Iona following a public naming competition, the ship features a spectacular glass-roofed SkyDome that houses a pool by day and transforms into an entertainment venue by night with aerial acrobatics and live shows. Iona was the first cruise ship in the P&O fleet powered by LNG fuel technology. The ship embraces British food culture with partnerships from celebrity chefs including Gary Rhodes' 6by Nico pop-up restaurant concept, Marco Pierre White steakhouse, and Mizuhana by Atul Kochhar. The 710 Club, named after P&O's founding year of 1837, offers intimate live music performances. The Oasis Spa provides extensive wellness facilities, while families enjoy dedicated kids' clubs and the Aqua Park waterslides. As a P&O ship, Iona caters primarily to British guests with a distinctly British onboard atmosphere, sailing from Southampton to Norwegian Fjords, Mediterranean, Canary Islands, and Caribbean destinations throughout the year.
