About Quantum of the Seas
Quantum of the Seas broke new ground when she launched in November 2014 as the lead ship of Royal Caribbean's Quantum class. Built by Meyer Werft in Germany at 168,666 gross tons and 1,141 feet long, she introduced revolutionary features never before seen at sea. The North Star, a jewel-shaped glass capsule on a robotic arm, rises 300 feet above sea level for breathtaking 360-degree views. RipCord by iFLY brought the first skydiving simulator to a cruise ship, while the SeaPlex indoor sports complex and bumper car arena created an entirely new category of onboard activity. Two70, the ship's signature entertainment venue, combines panoramic ocean views through floor-to-ceiling windows with cutting-edge robotic screens and aerialist performances. Quantum of the Seas carries 4,905 guests at maximum occupancy and was the first cruise ship to offer virtual balcony staterooms with real-time ocean views projected on interior cabin screens. After initially sailing from New York, Quantum was repositioned to Shanghai and later Singapore, where she has become enormously popular in the Asian cruise market. The ship offers diverse itineraries throughout Southeast Asia, visiting destinations across Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Japan.
