Norwegian Cruise Line is pulling out the stops for Norwegian Aura, its next Prima-class ship arriving in May 2027. The line has announced several onboard firsts: Tamara, NCL's debut Indian specialty restaurant; The Panorama Room, a complimentary dining venue with immersive LED ceiling and wall displays; and a Sensory Rain Pool that simulates a thunderstorm with lightning and thunder effects.
Tamara occupies Deck 8 with an open kitchen featuring tandoor ovens and design inspired by North Indian temples. The menu showcases regional specialties like Short-Rib Dosa, Lamb Biryani, and Green Papaya Salad prepared tableside. The Panorama Room on Deck 6 uses synchronized lighting and high-definition screens that shift throughout the day, creating dynamic visual settings across every wall and ceiling. Both venues complement Norwegian Aura's existing 22 restaurants and bars, which span 10 different cuisines from French and Japanese to Thai and Mediterranean.
The ship's expanded Mandara Spa spans two decks and claims the industry's largest Thermal Suite. Beyond the Sensory Rain Pool, the suite includes a blue-light therapy room, snow cave, reflection pool with sea views, and various saunas and steam rooms. Cascading waterfalls and forest-like canopies frame 24 treatment rooms offering 15 different wellness experiences. The spa emphasizes contrast therapy, encouraging guests to move between warm and cool spaces to stimulate their senses.
Norwegian Aura is the fifth Prima-class ship and the third in the newer Prima-Plus subclass. The line has also updated decor and layouts for established venues like Hudson's, Le Bistro, and Cagney's Steakhouse.
