Royal Caribbean has officially begun construction on its seventh Oasis class ship at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France. The keel laying ceremony marked the formal start of building, with workers placing commemorative coins beneath the first steel block in the dry dock. The vessel is projected to launch in 2028, continuing Royal Caribbean's expansion of mega ships that transformed cruising when the original Oasis debuted nearly two decades ago. The cruise line has not yet disclosed the ship's name or home port, promising additional details as construction progresses. This milestone follows Royal Caribbean's recent delivery of Legend of the Seas, the third ship in its Icon class fleet.
