The Celebrity Silhouette is celebrating 15 years of service since its July 2011 delivery, marking a ship that introduced some of Celebrity Cruises' most distinctive onboard features. Built at Meyer Werft in Germany, this 122,000-ton vessel was the fourth ship in the Solstice class and arrived with innovations that changed how cruise lines approached ship design.

The Silhouette debuted the Lawn Club Grill, described at launch as the first large-ship outdoor grilling venue where passengers could cook alongside a Celebrity chef. The ship also introduced Alcoves, private cabanas overlooking the Lawn Club, and the Hideaway, a high-tech retreat designed for reading or browsing with a tablet. For many passengers, these amenities became defining features of a Celebrity vacation during the mid-2010s.

The ship launched with Mediterranean itineraries from Civitavecchia, near Rome, featuring nine- to 13-night sailings to Greece, Turkey, Cyprus and Israel. By its first winter, the Silhouette repositioned to Bayonne, New Jersey, offering Caribbean cruises to St. Thomas, Antigua, St. Maarten and Labadoe. A major renovation as part of Celebrity's Revolution program later added staterooms and refreshed spaces throughout the ship.

Today, the Silhouette continues rotating between itineraries. The 2026 summer season included Bermuda and Iceland sailings before shifting to Canada and New England routes. For the remainder of 2026, the ship is scheduled to operate six- to eight-night Caribbean voyages from Fort Lauderdale to the Southern, Eastern and Western regions.

For repeat cruisers on Celebrity, the Silhouette represents a ship that helped define the line's identity during the 2010s. Current passengers planning a cruise on this veteran ship can expect cabins and dining venues refreshed during the Revolution upgrade, along with the original amenities that made the vessel memorable for thousands of travelers over the past 15 years.
