Carnival Cruise Line’s Booking System Will Temporarily Go Dark

Carnival's booking system will be offline Sunday, August 16 from 4 a.m. to noon ET for planned maintenance. New bookings and reservations unavailable.

Carnival Cruise Line will take its booking system offline on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 4 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET for planned maintenance. Passengers will be unable to book new cruises, modify reservations, or access the HUB app during this 8-hour window. The cruise line's customer service team also cannot process changes while the system is down, as representatives use the same backend database.

The outage will block multiple passenger functions beyond basic booking. Guests cannot log into accounts, make payments, book shore excursions, purchase onboard packages, or reserve specialty restaurants. The HUB app, which relies on the same database, will also be unavailable. West Coast passengers may escape the inconvenience since the maintenance ends at 9 a.m. PT, but early risers planning to book or modify sailings should wait until after noon ET.

Carnival schedules these maintenance windows twice yearly during off-peak hours to minimize disruption. The company is making system updates, database improvements, and backend server adjustments to improve the user experience. In May, the booking system underwent an 18-hour maintenance period. The company does not expect this outage to extend beyond the stated timeframe.

While the booking system is offline, guests can still access Carnival's general marketing and information pages to research ships and itineraries. This allows passengers to plan and make decisions before the system comes back online. Importantly, sailings scheduled to depart or arrive on August 16 will operate normally and are not affected by the maintenance window.

Passengers with existing bookings should plan around this Sunday morning blackout if they intend to modify reservations or book new sailings. All functionality should resume normally once the maintenance is complete at noon ET.
