RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay vs. Celebration Key: We Visited Both Carnival Destinations on the Same Cruise

Compare Carnival's two Bahamian private destinations: Celebration Key's resort amenities vs. RelaxAway Half Moon Cay's natural beach experience.

Carnival Corporation operates two distinct private Bahamian destinations that cater to different vacation preferences. Celebration Key, which opened in July 2025 on Grand Bahama Island, features a 275,000-square-foot freshwater lagoon, a 10-story sandcastle with waterslides, and more than 30 dining venues. RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, a renovated island southeast of Nassau, offers 2.5 miles of natural beach without pools or waterpark attractions. Both properties provide direct pier access for cruise passengers and complimentary amenities including loungers and umbrellas. Food service differs significantly: Celebration Key guests receive one Island Eats meal credit with additional purchases required, while Half Moon Cay features an unlimited buffet. The Cheers drink package is not valid at either location. Carnival and Princess ships visit Celebration Key, whereas Holland America also accesses Half Moon Cay's south side via tender boats.
