Explora Journeys selected marine educator Cristina Ozores as Godmother of EXPLORA III, the cruise line's inaugural liquefied natural gas-powered vessel, during World Ocean Day celebrations. Ozores directs Vellmarí, an organization that has collaborated with the MSC Foundation since 2024 on seagrass restoration and ocean literacy initiatives. Anna Nash, president of Explora Journeys, emphasized that Ozores's commitment to ocean conservation aligns with the brand's core values. The official naming ceremony occurs August 1 in Barcelona, with the ship's maiden voyage departing two days later toward Lisbon. During its first season, EXPLORA III will serve Northern Europe, Iceland, Greenland, New England, and Canada's East Coast. Ozores expressed that accepting the godmother role represents an emotional milestone in her decades-long marine advocacy career.
