Aurora Expeditions concluded its 2025/26 Antarctic season with record passenger numbers, welcoming 30% more guests across 30 voyages. The company operated three expedition vessels simultaneously for the first time in its 35-year history following the November launch of Douglas Mawson in Sydney. The fleet completed approximately 800 landings throughout the season.
Aurora returned to East Antarctica after a 15-year absence and introduced Active Antarctica voyages featuring 14 included activities. The company achieved a world record by reaching 78°44.405'S, the southernmost voyage in history. Technological innovations included AI-powered routing and microplastic filtration systems, alongside drone-supported scouting for real-time ice assessment and navigation safety. These advancements supported both operational efficiency and environmental research initiatives.
