Ambassador to acquire fourth ship this year, CMO confirms

Ambassador Cruise Line will acquire a fourth vessel this year from another operator, continuing growth strategy focused on refurbished ships and sustainability.

via Cruise Trade News · Published Apr 23, 2026 · 1 min read

Ambassador Cruise Line will add a fourth vessel to its fleet before year-end, marking continued expansion for the UK-based operator. Chief marketing officer Gordon Nardini confirmed the announcement at a Portsmouth event celebrating Ambition's final seasonal sailing. Unlike its first three ships, the fourth acquisition will come from another cruise line rather than new construction. The company prioritizes sustainability by refurbishing existing vessels with environmentally sensitive equipment instead of allowing them to reach scrap yards. Ambassador has achieved 87 percent booking levels for 2026, driven by demand for no-fly itineraries. Additionally, the line secured fuel hedges through 2027, guaranteeing no fuel surcharges during that period—a competitive advantage as the market faces headwinds. The expansion follows last year's merger with French operator Compagnie Francaise de Croiseres, which brought Renaissance into the growing fleet.
